ATO makes Changes to Activity Statements & On-Demand Reports

Changes to Activity Statements and On-Demand Reports

ATO is focusing on significant changes to on-demand reports and activity statements (AS) in the next couple of months. These will be visible in Online Services for Agents (OSFA).

According to the proposed changes;

There will be new fields to the On-Demand Outstanding activity statement reporting (Current + previous 3 years report).

These changes will allow the user to,

Effortlessly identify where each Activity Statement has been delivered and in which channel. It will also enable the identification of the active role registration types relevant to each client. It helps to see any AS obligation is eligible for flexible lodgment as per the disaster support arrangements.

Improved Data Filtering

Once the report is downloaded there will be improved data filtering mechanisms that give more user-friendly visibility to the report.
With new fields added to the on-demand income tax lodgment (current +previous three years) report the users will be able to see whether each income tax period is eligible for flexible lodgment under disaster support arrangements and the substituted accounting period.

There will be a new digital installment notice for pay as you go and GST installments. This can be enabled for those who prefer a digital preference and it will include all the relevant information to pay the installment amounts. The document can be downloaded from the client contact history in OSFA, so the practitioners can forward the details to the clients.

All these changes have been implemented based on the feedback received for the ATO and with the changes, the user experience will enhance. Practitioners will be able to support the clients much easier to meet their obligations.

The date of the changes to be visible in the OSFA is to be confirmed and based on the feedback there will be continuous improvements.
